70th Anniversary

Today marked the 70th Anniversary of St John’s Choir becoming members of the Royal School of Church Music. A special cake was ordered to mark the event, and the church was decorated with magnificent flowers. Members of the RSCM were invited, along with our local MP (as was…she’s not actually an MP at the moment is she?!) Claire Perry was, and the incoming Mayor for Devizes.

I opened the service with Toccata and my Deputy Head Teacher, Nichola Hawkins, was there to hear me play which is an amazing privilege in itself.

Chris worked tirelessly preparing the choir with descants and anthems and they sounded simply splendid! We had so many compliments from the congregation, it was a fitting way to celebrate 70 years!

A truly magnificent celebration, followed by cake!
