Earlier this year my Mum saw an article about Organ scholarships being offered by the RSCM. We sent off an e-mail and with the help of Chris and the Rev Paul Richardson (the Rector of St John’s church), I have been awarded a scholarship! There are a maximum of ten a year and it must be supported by your church as they help pay for the lessons as well as the Royal School of Church Music and your parents. I have to commit to 36 services a year, 2 hours of practice a week and to attend a workshop once a year. It’s so brilliant to know the church are fully behind my playing and learning. I play my first hymn with my new title on Sunday. I am now officially a RSCM Pipeline Organ Scholar at St John’s Church with St Mary’s. How exciting!
