An Organ Recital

Today I visited Holy Trinity Church in Westbury-on-Trym to hear Daniel Moult play an organ recital. I first met Daniel when I took my grade 5 theory exam on the same day as he was playing a recital at St John’s in Devizes. I crept in at the end to hear his last piece be played. Since then I’ve been lucky to meet him several times and hear him play. He’s a huge inspiration to me.

The last piece he played today was Prelude and Fugue in B Major and is one of the hardest organ pieces there is. Daniel’s fingers flew across the keyboard. It was incredible to see on the ‘big screen’.

After the recital I met with Dan and interviewed him over lunch for my project.

He was so generous with his time, thoughts and comments. I feel so lucky and privileged to have the support of such an amazing musician with my project.
