It’s been a day off today and so I’ve done some National Trust property exploring in the area. I visited Petworth first which is huge! It’s known best for the art work it displays. There is a small organ there, but it’s now redundant and not playable.
Later I visited Polesden Lacey, a lovely property which I actually felt I could live in! Perhaps it was the pianos around the grounds and house, including a rather nice Steinway!
This evening I headed to the Cathedral for Evensong, sung this evening by Lichfield Choral. I missed not being involved in the service, but they sang music/settings I am familiar so I was singing along in my head even if not in the choir stalls!
It’s been a really relaxing day. Tomorrow there are two services, choir practice and I’m out for lunch with my Mum in between, along with a trip to Clandon Park and Hatchlands again.
You must go to Killerton House nr Exeter (another National Trust property). There is a lovely chamber organ there.

You can learn so much by listening. Notice how much visiting other choir Mr Totney does. We shall miss you tomorrow. See you in August and best wishes
