I was delighted to be invited to the academic award evening this week at school. We had a very inspiring talk by Katy Hamilton before the presentations. She went to Stonar and spoke about her time there and about it being ok to weave your way through to your ultimate goal rather than knowing exactly what you want to do when you’re at school. Katy now does presentations, broadcasting, writing and much more. It was brilliant hearing from a fellow musician following her dream.
My achievements over the last academic year were detailed as:
Distinction in FCSE French
A* in L1 and L2 Latin
A’s in all her school exams
Distinction in g7 organ
Merit in g8 piano
And a fantastic report on inspiring young Organists.
I think that sums it up and now I’m working hard on year 10!
I’ve just had a peep at your Twitter, so you’re a piano teacher now! What’s that like?? Maybe you could blog about how that feels! Thanks
