Today Revd Canon Paul Richardson took his last service at St John’s church before he moves to pastures new. We enjoyed a celebration service with some of his favourite music, as much as we were able.
Chris asked me to page turn for him. He played one of his grade 8 pieces! I loved it, Durufle’s, ‘Fugue sur le theme du Carillon des Heures de la cathedrals de Soissons’. As you know, I love page turning too, so jumped at the chance of doing so!

Paul gave a very personal sermon, it reminded me of the support he’s given me with my music, allowing me to become the organ scholar at church, encouraging the choir and my development as a singer. Paul also prepared me for Confirmation two years ago and of course was at that service too.

During communion choir sang ‘Blessed be the God and Father’ by Wesley. It’s a piece I love and so was thrilled to be the soloist, especially on this important day for Paul. You can hear the recording from the link below.
Good luck Paul and thank you!
Thank you too to Gail Foster for this fabulous photo taken during the service.
