The Return to Lessons in Church!

It has been so good to be back in church this week and have a proper, face to face. Whilst lessons via FaceTime have been really good, they’re really not the same. Being able to discuss, fiddle, try, try again, hear and play with Chris makes the world of difference and I feel I make so much more progress in ‘real’ lessons. I think the organ however may have enjoyed the break from my playing a little too much! Only the Great and Pedals are working at the moment, no sound on the Swell or Choir! It makes for interesting playing!

St John’s is just the same as when we had our last lesson, last choir rehearsal and last service. Sadly, the COVID precautions are still in place, but hopefully, with small steps, we’ll be back to normal soon.

  1. Please tell the secret of how organists manage to sit and play with numb fingers in churches where the temperature is close to zero?
