Bach-a-thon

It was a privilege to be part of the Pembroke College Bach-a-thon again this year. My allocated pieces were BWV 541 prelude only, 619 and 1095. The latter two were new pieces to me which I enjoyed learning.

It’s always exciting to see who you’re playing around. I was thrilled to see David Goode one side of me and William Fox on the other. I just hope listeners weren’t too disappointed to hear me in the middle!

All the sessions are available on the Pembroke College Choir Facebook page, along with links to the fundraising pages for the Muze Trust and Estelle Trust. My section can be found from this link https://fb.watch/68HwPpqE8R/.

With school out for the summer I was able to listen to so many more players ‘live’ than normal. It’s wonderful to hear friends play and to be able to support them. Not only that I got to hear some other incredible players and hear some of the more unusual pieces by Bach. I look forward to being part of 2022!

Huge congratulations to Anna Lapwood for coordinating 83 organists and their repertoire over 24 hours. What an achievement!
